Objective:By observing the changes of clinical symptom score in patients with diabetes peripheral neuropathy of TCM, to explore the method for the improvement of TCM syndrome; By observing the changes of TCSS integral, to analyze the significance for the improvement of neurological symptoms and signs; By examining fasting plasma glucose, postprandial blood sugar, glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc) to test the method for improvement of basic disease; By detecting serum levels of nerve growth factor (NGF plays), nerve conduction velocity, to evaluate treatment effect; Through the observation of liver, kidney, asking adverse effects, to examine its safety.Methods:64 patients with the criterion of DPN are divided into experimental group and control group,32 cases of each group were given the lifestyle intervention (including diet, exercise therapy). After 2 weeks of basic treatment comes the experimental observation period. The treatment group on the base of basic treatment were given traditional Chinese medicine formula particles; The control group in the foundation treatment at the same time were given a cobalt amine oral. Clinical treatment after 8 weeks, respectively collect syndrome integral, TCSS integral, FBG,2 HPG, HbAlc, NGF, SCV and other indicators of 64 patients with DPN TCM before and after treatment, and then statistic and analyze these data.Results:1. The totally effective rate of treatment group was 90.32%, which was higher than that of the control group of 72.41%.2. The treatment group can significantly reduce the TCM symptom integral (P< 0.05).3. There was no significant difference between two groups (P> 0.05) in TCSS nervous system score 4.The serum nerve growth factor (NGF) in treatment group increased significantly (P< 0.05) compared with the control group.5. The treatment group of FPG,2hPG, HbAlc levels were lower than those in the control group (P< 0.05).6. The sensory nerve conduction velocity(SCV) in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group (P< 0.05).Conclusion:The use of tonifying Qi and kidney, detoxification and promoting blood circulation of treating DPN can effectively reduce the TCM symptoms integral, TCSS nervous system integration and it has certain hypoglycemic effect. It can also increase NGF content in serum, enhance the median nerve and sural nerve conduction velocity, slow the progression of diabetic peripheral neuropathy and reduce nerve damage on high blood glucose.
