Posterior circulation ischemia(PCI) belongs to ischemic cerebrovascular disease, which is mostly due to transient ischemic attack(TIA) of the vertebro-basilar system. As for it might make impact on the quality of life and psychology, research on the prophylaxis and treatment of PCI has become an important task. Nowadays life way changes a lot, labour intensity、work efficiency increases markedly, and computers’spread widely, therefore morbidity of young adults increases year by year.ObjectiveObserve the therapeutic effect of acupoint combination--DU16、GB20 and GB12 for posterior circulation ischemic vertigo (PCIV). By comparison with the western medicine treatment team, we can assess the effect and the advantage objectively, besides, it provides objective basis for the clinical application and promotion.MethodsIdentify 60 patients who measure up to the diagnostic criteria of PCIV in western medicine and vertigo in traditional Chinese medicine, then divide them to 2 groups-the treatment group and control group—with 30 patients each group. Apart from the basic treatment for the basic disease, the control group will get flunarizine hydrochloride capsule 5 mg per night, and the treatment group will get acupuncture treatment once a day. We choose the acupoint combination includes DU16, GB20 and GB1. One course of treatment lasts one week, patients in the treatment group take 2 days’rest during one course. Treatment of both group last for 2 courses. Record the obvervational index of the same day patients join in the research and 2 courses treatment. From the index,we get to know the therapeutic effect、safety、 adverse events and so on. With the help of SPSS, we hope to get a comprehensive evaluation of this acupoint combination’s clinical therapeutic effects.Results1.Total effective rate:After the 2 weeks’treatment, total effective rate of the treatment group is 93.33%, higher than 80% of the control group, which shows that the acupoint combination works better than the flunarizine hydrochloride capsule.2.TCM symptoms:According to the statistical result (P< 0.05), both treatment are effective on all TCM symptoms, and the differential analysis result(P< 0.05)shows that the acupuncture treatment is better on improvement of the total symptom score. Besides, apart from 2 symptoms-tinnitus & deafness, insomnia&dreaminess, acupuncture treatment improve the rest 5 symptoms significantly than the control group.3.TCD parameter:According to the statistical result of each parameter (P<0.05), the acupuncture treatment is effective for all TCD parameter, while the western medicine treatment is effective for only 5 parameters. The significant inter-group difference of improved parameter represents that acupuncture treatment improve cerebral blood supply better than flunarizine hydrochloride capsule. Conclusion:The acupoint combination on the bottom of the skull can improve PCIV, and its effect is more significant than the treatment of flunarizine hydrochloride capsule. The acupuncture way could be used for reference in clinical practice.
