This shows us that painting family got a progressive development, and till Song Dynasty reached at the ultimate state. In addition, the painting family shows imbalance in distribution, which is a common characteristic of painting family in ancient China.Secondly, by studying painting literature and development history of the painters in Song Dynasty, this paper teases out the Huang, the Gao, the Guo, and the Su and other painting families as well. Based on historical facts and data, the paper finds that the painting family in Song Dynasty gets much more development than the previous generations in terms of the painters’family blood, family status and the place of birth. And the number of family painting appeared a batch of continuation with over three generations. Among them, the Ma Yuan family is the professional family painting that is quite rare in the history of ancient Chinese painting. Furthermore, the painting family is rich in traditional painting styles in this period. Actually speaking, some of them are a single painting for pathologists, some of are in literature and painting and some of are good at writing books, calligraphy and painting as well. At the same time, due to the increasing number of painting family, the output and distribution of them of can be more comparative. And the distribution of painting family presenting unbalanced is more obvious at this time.Thirdly, by analyzing the output and distribution of family paintings in Song Dynasty, the paper finds that distributions in different regions even in the same region is lopsided sex, in painting family output easily output painting family living in the South advantage position. And the reason is that the social politics, economy, culture and natural environment and other factors, makes the paintings of Song Dynasty family painting. In this sense, we can see the paintings pattern in Song Dynasty holding geographical changes, and further experience from before the Song Dynasty Chinese painting development pattern, along with ancient Chinese economy, culture and center of gravity moving to the South and a major shift, which has become an indisputable fact. Due the differences between family members experience and personality, the painting patterns are differences between family members with the different themes, painting styles. Of course, the family painting variation is usually caused by the activity learning of family members who learnt from the outside world.Finally, by giving case study on painting family in Song Dynasty, this paper summed up the characteristics of painting family. And we can come to a conclusion: painting development in Song Dynasty is deeply under impacted by special political situation and economic environment in this period, which in turn affects the process of painting in Song Dynasty.
