Robert Schumann was regarded as one of the greatest and representative Germancomposers, pianists and music critic of the Romantic era. The Piano Cycle made withshort pieces stand on top of his composing work. Meanwhile, this great Composeralso had some splendid untitled master pieces-Sonata. Piano Sonata No.1in F-sharpminor, Op.11was one of them, which was made of passion and full of Romantic, anideal work to unfold Schumann’s thinking on aesthetic. This article tries to providesome new thoughts to performers, with analysis on the contents, characters,performing techniques and music images of this piece.This article contains3parts; first part describes music characters on PianoSonata No.1in F-sharp minor. The second part studies from background, contentsand structure, presents the trend of this composition out of dramatical conflicts. Thethird is on the analysis of how to perform and build up music image, linking betweenuntitled piece and music image; and studying on all crucial parts in the whole piece,with author’s personal understanding, experience and performing theoretical study.
