The New Yangge Movement Of Yan'an - The Characteristics And Functions Of New Yangge Dance

The new yangko dance movement started vigorously in1940s Yan’an. After theYan’an forum on literature and art, the Luyi art workers took the initiative in starting thenew yangko Dance, which is based on the traditional old yangko dance. The new onetakes the essence and discards the dross of the old one; meanwhile, it integrates therevolutionary realism and carries on the essence and blazes new trails; therefore, itdevelops and grows steadily over the process of innovation. The new yangko dance actson the purpose of serving the masses and is closely related to the revolution, the massesand real life, so its influence has been continuing since the anti-Japanese war.This thesis consists of two parts: to introduce the new yangko movement, the firstchapter discusses the background of the movement, its causes, evolution and developmentover the revolution. The second chapter is based on the new yangko dance itself andemphatically analyzes the form, contents, movement and function of the new yangkodance. Through the analysis of the dance itself, the author seeks to understand thehistorical significance and influence of the new yangko dance, which will have a positiveeffect on Chinese traditional folk dance development.
