Primitive religion spontaneously emerged in primitive society.It was believed that there was a superhuman strength,this strength was spirit.The spitit was worshiped by people. Primitive religion was a very important part of the history of human society development,it had a significant impact on the origin of ancient Chinese civilization. Primitive religion promoted the origin and the continued development of ancient Chinese civilization.The paper mainly includes the following three aspects:The first chapter is the main content of the origin and development of Chinese primitive religion. China’s primitive religion originated in witchcraft. In the early stage of five emperors era,China entered the era of religion.After that,primitive religion developet to a peak in the Shang Dynasty. After the Western Zhou Dynasty, Primitive religion began to decline and gradually transformed in the direction of humanistic religion,because of the decline of the kingly power and the rise of the shi class and the rational spirit awakening. The main content of the second chapter is the performance of promoting effect of primitive religion on the origin of Chinese ancient civilization. Five emperors era, the3000BC to the2000BC, is the origin of Chinese ancient civilization period.In Archaeology, cultures that in the era of five emperors period had Hongshan culture in the Liaohe River basin, Longshan culture in the Yellow River basin, Liangzhu Culture in the Yangtze River Basin.So this chapter mainly analysis the archaeological materials which had related with primitive religion to investigate the influence of primitive religion on the origin China ancient civilization.The main content of the third chapter is the influence of the primitive religious to the origin of China ancient civilization.
