The principle of Syntactic Linearity is the primary principle of SimultaneousInterpretation, and its application can save time and relieve memory burden of theinterpreters. To better illustrate the application of this principle in SimultaneousInterpretation, this thesis classifies five methods: Segmentation, Anticipation,Amplification,Omission,Conversion. Proper use of the methods of Segmentation,Anticipation and Omission can save the interpreters valuable time and the methods ofAmplification and Conversion can make the interpretation easier to understand,avoiding the inappropriate translation. Taking the Inaugural Meeting and the1stAcademic Conference of the World Tort Law Society as an example, under the guidanceof the principle of Syntactic Linearity using in Simultaneous Interpretation, this thesistends to analyze the application of its five methods with examples, aiming to adjust theinterpretation to improve its accuracy and fluency by using the methods of SyntacticLinearity in Simultaneous Interpretation.
