Marxist philosophy is practical philosophy which is the purpose to achieve thefreedom and liberation of humans. In the20th century, the understanding of Marxismgets into a diversified period. Among many schools of neo-Marxist, the academiccommunity of Eastern European neo-Marxist’s naissance is particularly valuablebecause of their special historical background. Suffering Stalinist detention in a longterm and lacking the environment of democracy and freedom, Eastern Europeancountries’ thinkers always upheld the humanitarian spirit of Marxism, conductedheckling and reflection for the historical plight of current humans constantly,constructed their own unique perspectives about the issues of freedom and formed acommon academic pursuit and theoretical purport.From the historical background of the socialist countries of Eastern Europe,realistic situation and the ideological origins, this paper analyzes human’s practice andthe essence of practice and discusses the view of freedom in the theory of practiceperspective. Its main line is the inquiry and debate which Eastern European neo-Marxisttheorists discuss about freedom and its perspective is the essence of human’s practicerespectively. And in the perspective of the alienation of everyday life, the paperanalyzes how to get rid of the alienation of everyday life and achieves the possibilityfrom human’s spontaneity to liberty and consciousness and reveals the view of liberty inthe perspective of critique of everyday life. In the perspective of individual’s survivalneeds, the paper analyzes the inherent association between liberty and humanism, seekfor intrinsic unity between individual and class and clarify the view of liberty in theperspective of humanitarian criticism. Through the above research and analysis, thispaper will present a unity in diversity and the unique connotation of Eastern European neo-Marxist’s view of liberty. Finally, this paper will heckle and reflect EasternEuropean neo-Marxist’s view of liberty. It analyzes the theoretical specialitysimultaneously, reveals the limitations of Eastern European neo-Marxist’s view ofliberty objectively and excavate and interpret its contemporary value and significance.
