| The region of Southern Jiangxi has a long history. It got a huge development inthe Southern Song Dynasty. However, it is a pity of the Southern Jiangxi′localhistory research that there is little relevant research. This paper intends to sort out itsdevelopment, reveal its prominent feature, analyze the reason of its development bydiscussing the economic and cultural achievements from the region of SouthernJiangxi in the Southern Song Dynasty. This paper can be divided into three parts.In the first part, the author summarized the region of Southern Jiangxi′soutstanding achievements in detail from the aspects of agriculture, handicrafts, andcommerce. These achievements would be derived from the many aspects, such asnatural environment and social interaction. Then the author analyzed thecharacteristics of the development in, to show the whole situation of economicdevelopment in this area.In the second part, the author summarized in detail that the region of SouthernJiangxi′s outstanding achievements made in the Southern Song Dynasty from thedevelopment of the education of Prefecture, Country, private school, increasedimperial examinations and other aspects. The cultural development is based oneconomic development. Economic and cultural promoted each other, and they jointlypromote the region of Southern Jiangxi to realize the folk transformation and socialdevelopment gradually in the Southern Song Dynasty.In the last part, the paper summarized the main characteristics and degree ofeconomy and culture development in Song Dynasty in Southern Jiangxi. It pointedout the region of Southern Jiangxi has made considerable progress in the SouthernSong Dynasty, but compared to other regions of Jiangxi, it still fall backward.Nevertheless, the achievements of the Southern Song Dynasty create importantconditions for the great development of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Thedevelopment of mountain areas also contributed to the Dong Han confluence,promoted the formation of Hakka people system. |
