We explore how the “fireplace” Interpret symbolic significance of its own and how be so important in the play.Based on the summarize of the concept of symbol and metaphor, through the discussing of the general symbol of “fireplace” which is "home" and with the animation howl’s moving Castle, analyzed the different meaning of fireplace in different scene. Based on theory and practice and using individual cases analysis, classified literature and deconstruction the animation, proposed the concrete connotation of “fireplace” beyond the general meaning, and also proposed “fireplace” as the symbol of “home” in three status which are “the ideal home”,”the real home” and “the broken home”. These three States interpretation of the faith, guidance, strength, purity, deserve, life, mother, belong, lost, warning, forgotten. These specific meaning vividly revealed the theme of the play and the fate of the characters, greatly enrich the depth and breadth of the story, make a new angle for the audience to felling the story.“Fireplace” is the key to open the plot line, it inserted in the story by possessing characters with “the ideal home”,”the real home” and “the broken home”, make the plot line more clearly. By analyzing the symbol and metaphor of “fireplace” in howl’s moving Castle, we got a better appreciation of the symbol “home” by “fireplace” and also we realized the important of the application of symbolic sign in animations or movies.
