A Tentative Study Of Zhou Dynasty 's

Yu sacrificial rite，which is the sacrificial ritual of praying for rain and it is one of the mostimportant sacrifice of Zhou Dynasty. In this paper, it will analyze and discuss about the origin,the specific content and features of Zhou Dynasty Yu sacrificial rite, base on the ancient andunearthed document. Also, it will analyze the political and religious cultural concept whichreflects Yu scrificial ritual in Zhou Dynasty. It has four parts:The introduction part is to generalize and summarize the classical literature that hasconnection with the Zhou Dynasty Yu sacrificial rite, and summarize the previous researchresults. From summarizing this aspect research results which have been obtained, we cananalysis something missing and the insufficiency.In the first part, according to the record of related literature, we make rough statistics anddisaster description about the frequent droughts in Xia, Shang and Zhou three generations,especially in Zhou Dynasty. We can learn that the frequent droughts caused huge threat anddestruction to the agricultural activities at that time. Summarizing and analyzing the way thatpraying for rain deal with the droughts, and then leading the form of Zhou Dynasty Yu sacrificialrite. Meanwhile, making analysis according to the font and meaning in oracle and bronzeinscription.In the second part, the main purpose is to discuss the detailed content about the ZhouDynasty Yu sacrificial rite. Introducing two different types in detail, which are Chang Yu andHan Yu. Among them, Chang Yu is held in April in Xia Dynasty calendar (June in Zhou Dynastycalendar), having the nature against to the disaster. Han Yu is held according to the detailedsituation, having the nature respond to disasters. Meanwhile, introducing the object of the ZhouDynasty Yu sacrificial rite, pointing out the object are largely God and Natural god, furthermore,existing difference due to the different political level of the participants.In the third part, the main purpose is to make demonstration about the relevantcharacteristics of the Zhou Dynasty Yu sacrificial rite in detail. Describing the place of it-YuTan. The article discusses the important effect of SI Wu and witch in Yu sacrificial ritual. Itmakes detailed description about the special emperor dance in the process of Yu sacrificial ritual.In the fourth part, I combine the content and form of the Zhou Dynasty Yu sacrificial rite,making summarize of the society and culture in Zhou Dynasty after adding the related factors inLi and Yue civilization. This part analyzes people’s new understanding about the transfer ofdestiny and the rational factors of growth,“Jing De Bao Min”. It discourses the interactrelationship between sacrifice power class and the kingship, reflecting from the Yu sacrificial rite.Meanwhile, describing the people-oriented idea of ruler in Zhou Dynasty.
