Zhou Dynasty Marriage Etiquette Research

The marriage culture is a part of our country etiquette and music civilization,the marriage system is the social advance safeguard,the etiquette and custom is the content which Chinese takes seriously when they enter into marriage.Zhou is an important period for the development of wedding and customs.After the accumulation of ancient;Xia;Shang dynasties,the Western Zhou Dynasty established and perfected the wedding system and standardized the wedding and customs.In Zhou Dynasty,there were marriage and concubines influenced by primitive marriage culture,while there were common customs of making sacrifices when in a hurry,being unhappy and not congratulating,which were related to premarital plunder.The system of the same surname and no marriage in Zhou Dynasty had important enlightenment to the later generations,and many later generations adopted the law to regulate the marriage relationship.The polygyny,which originated in ancient times,developed in the Zhou Dynasty and formed a system of wives under the direct concubines.In addition,the marriage system of the Zhou Dynasty,in which the nobles and the common people were searching for marriage partners in the same or similar ranks,developed into the marriage idea of the later Homogamy,and had an important influence on the later generations.The Zhou Dynasty formulated the standard wedding ceremony,but along with the time development world somewhat abbreviates to the wedding.The order of the elders and the words of the matchmaker also run through the whole process of marriage in the civilized society.In Zhou Dynasty,there were still three-month temple ceremonies,after which the husband family would perform the anti-horse ceremony,the new wife family or the ceremony of giving the daughter.This paper tries to analyze the content,manifestation,development and influence of the marriage customs and marriage system in Zhou Dynasty from the aspects of marriage customs and marriage system in Zhou Dynasty,and analyzes the significance of the marriage customs and marriage system in pre-qin dynasty in dealing with the contemporary marriage problems.
