A Study On The Code - Switching Of Tourist Language

Due to the development of tourism in our country, the number of tour guides is increasing sothat the study of guide language gets many scholars’ attention. Taking guide languagecode-switching phenomena as the research objects, this paper intends to expand the research fieldof the guide language, so that we can provide a certain amount of material to social linguistics andmake some suggestions to tour guide operation and guide education.Based on sociolinguistics, pragmatics and other correlative disciplines, together with theoperation of guide, this paper tries to reveal the guide language code-switching types, influentialfactors, conversational implicature generation mechanism and the characteristics that are differentfrom other jargons. In the process of research, the author read a lot of guide language books, tourcommentaries and guide theory books, combining with a series of tour guide operations andrelevant theoretical knowledge of linguistics, had a certain understanding of guide languagecode-switching phenomena. Through carefully thinking and repeated comparison, the authorcollected a large number of language materials, tried to unify the materials and ideas, finally finishedthis paper.This paper is divided into the following six parts:Chapter one, introduction. This part is an overview of the guide language research indomestic and overseas, elaborating the research objects, research meanings, research methods andresearch ideas of guide language code-switching, plays a guiding role to the coming parts.Chapter two, types of guide language code-switching. In this part, the guide languagecode-switching phenomena and other correlative concepts are defined. Then, classified the guidelanguage code-switching phenomena, defined the concepts, positioned the research objectsthrough different standards.Chapter three, the influential factors of guide language code-switching. This is the key anddifficulty in this paper, the main purpose is to explore the causes of code-switching. According tothe Gumperz’s code-switching classification, the author discusses the environmental factors andmotivational factors that affected the guide language code-switching.Chapter four, the analysis of conversational implicature of guide language code-switchingphenomena. The main purpose is to reveal that how to express conversational implicature by usingcode-switching, and make code-switching more functional. In this part, the author discusses thefeasibility of conversational implicature, and finds the direct methods.Chapter five, the characteristics of guide language code-switching. In this part, the authorsummarizes the characteristics of guide language code-switching and gives some ideas to the tourguide operations according to these characteristics. Chapter six, conclusion. This part is a summary to the above research and the author givessome ideas about the code-switching phenomena. At last, the paper puts forward to the limitationsof the research and the future directions.
