As the first monograph explaining Shangshu,Shangshudazhuan contains rich materials for history and literature research. Many originalmaterials in Shangshu have been explained in Shangshudazhuan. The interpretive approach inShangshudazhuan, which invoke much ancient ceremony system and historical data, also make ita valuable book. Consequently, making textual criticisms and explanations for the substantivesof Shangshudazhuan have had literature significance.Substantive needs to possess three semantic characteristics: related with a class o things,manifested a specific thing, had distinctive features.
