The Xu Hua Pin,was written by Yao Zui who followed the programme taken by Xie He in Gu Hua Pin Lu.The book criticized some famous painters lived in Song,Qi,and Liang Dynasties of the Southern Dynasty,which is a Significant book on the painting theories.It is convinced the Xu Hua Pin plays an important role in the research of the development of painting methodology,artistic evaluation terms and art history at that time.The body of the research is divided into two parts.The first part focuses on the literature review of the related research of the Xu Hua Pin and the development of its editions.Through the examination of all of the editions of the Xu Hua Pin,textual criticism of this book is conducted in the second part.
