On Xu Zeng And His Poetic Thought

Xu Zeng is the cloth of the literati between Ming dynasty and early Qing, whose the most outstanding contribution in the field of poetics. Not only did he have left his preface-writer’s, but the poetry screening and commentary of the poets This paper researches Xuzeng’s writing and selection, explores fully his life, friends, and works and strives to achieve ZhiRenLunShi. I comb carefully Xu Zeng’s poetic theory at the same time, in order to have complete understanding to his poetics. This article also has an analysis of specific performance on the manifestation said between XuZeng and Jin Shengtan,and has a further interpretation above them who have a profound origin.This paper is divided into three chapters, the first chapter discusses Xu Zeng’s life, writings and friends. Life focuses on solving the problem that the origin Xuzeng’s native place and the age suffering from foot disease. This paper argues that Xuzeng’s native place is shaxi county, Lou state, Taicang, his grandfathers moved to Wuxian. Foot disease begined between Chongzhen eight to nine years, when Xuzeng was24or25years old, which had a huge impact for his future path in life. The writing test is mainly some new understanding of mine on the basis of the current academic circles about Xu Zeng works, such as thinning work writing time, the new version of the discovery,the introduction of other books and so on. Making friends mainly analyzes Xuzeng’s poetic activities and exchanges which make great influence on his poetics thoughts and ideas, The second chapter explores systematically Xuzeng’s poetics on aspects of the content of the poetry,conditions and methods.
