Jingko has the reputation of ’the best of the scenic resort and historic sites in the south of the Yangtze River’with beautiful scenery and countless scenic. From the Dynasty Nan, many poets came to have a tour.Consequently, countless poems have remained,among which written in Dynasty Tang and Song were more popular and many verses spread through the ages.Those poems written in Dynasty Ming and Dynasty Qing were the most just in number.All the literary works mainly give an expression of aesthetic and cultural connotations such as landscape、religion、 patriotic、seclusion and legend,which more concentratedly show the cultural charm of scenics in Jingko.Chapter one outlines the location characteristics and overall conditions of the landscapes in Jingko. Jingko has a unique geographical position for it lies in the intersection of the Yangtze River and JingHang Grand Canal,and links Wu and Chu, so it has been a transport hub and military heartland from the ancient.There are lush natural resources like mountain、river, among which mountain resource is more important. Chapter two analyzes types and historical development of cultural landscapes.There are many types of landscape such as religion、garden、ferry and inscription,among which religious landscape is more attractive.In general these scenics were built from the Dynasty Weijin, and thrived during Tang and Song, which were renewed in following dynasties. In Early Qing as the emperor inspected the South, a palace was specially constructed in Jiao Hill and WenZong Court was built in Jin Hill, which promoted the development of Jingko scenic resorts. Chapter three to five focus on the analysis of the most prominent and important resorts in Jingko known as Jin Hill Jiao Hill and Beigu Hill. Jin Hill and Jiao Hill lies in the center of the River and competed with each other from the early times. Jin Hill is gorgeous with the outlook of mountain hidden in temples.Jin Hill Temple is one of the four most popular temples in the South, so it is surrounded by a thick buddhist atmosphere,with buildings painted in yellow and bells and drums ringing. At the same time many resorts in Jin Hill are known for legend or old sayings, such as Jin Hill named Jin just because someone digged out of gold in the mountain which shows the secular side.Meanwhile Sushi danced in Miaogao Tai and Snake Bai submerged Jin Hill show the inclusive side as they merge two cultures of religion and secularity. Jiao Hill is elegant and quiet with the outlook of temples hidden in the mountain.It was developed earlier but known later.As it is remote away from people plus the legend of Jiaoguang, Jiao Hill is popular for the seclusion culture. Several stones carved of Yiheming attracted writers coming to Jiao Hill to write poems expressing their feelings about surprise or nostalgia. Some of the poems were carved in the cliffs which later known for the inscriptions culture.Beigu Hill is majestic and steep with the outstanding military position.Beigu Hill was developed and popular early. The poem Arrive the Beigu Hill written by Wangwan totally shows the imposing manner and then people of Song wrote many lyrics.There is a thick hero atmosphere in Beigu Hill, with Ganlu Temple Henshi as the material carrier and hero like Sunquan Liubei as the emotional sustenance.There are also many pavilions, among which Beigu Pavilion is more meaningful as Xinqiji and Yueke once wrote poems expressing their patriotic ambitions there.Chapter six analyses other representative resorts. Xijin ferry is a historical and cultural heritage, where poets wrote mang poems and which promoted mang landscapes constructed.Dingmao Villa and Mengxi Park are personal residences bearing the meaning of seclusion or technology. Azalea in Helin Temple and Lecythidaceae flower in Zhaoyin Temple are beautiful with mystery.Chapter seven summarizes the culture of scenic resorts in Jingko and compares them with those in Yangzhou,outstanding the magnificent characteristics of Jingko.
