Zhang Zuonan’s Poetry Collection Collation And Studies

The paper sorted out and researched the Poems of the Cuiwei Hill and the Anthology of the Cuiwei Hill, collected literature works of Zhang Zuonan, a famous mathematician and poet from Jinhua in Qing dynasty.The full paper is divided into three parts:research, punctuating and compilation. Based on the Poems of the Cuiwei Hill and the Anthology of the Cuiwei Hill as well as historical materials, biographies and local annals, the research part did a textual research on the poet’s life and social intercourse, and analyzed his works briefly on basis of related materials. As an important part, the section of punctuating punctucated and sorted out the collected works of Zhang Zuonan. At present, the most complete version of the Poems of the Cuiwei Hill was edited by Guo Baocong, which still has many errors. In view of the reliability, the poet’s own handwritten version is undoubtedly the best. But unfortunately this version is so incomplete as to provide an entire version for proofreading. Therefore, this paper proofread the version of Guo Baocong, referring to the handwritten version, the Poems of Beilu and other scattered works including Zhang Zuonan’s poems. For The the Poems of the Cuiwei Hill, Zhang Zuonan’s handwritten manuscript is the only version left. It was proofread with Essays of Meiyi and articles quoted in other historical annals as reference. In the part of compilation, this paper mainly compiled the documents related to Zhang Zuonan’s poems from the historical materials and local annals.
