A Study On The Explanation Of "Tong Ya"

Tongya is the outstanding contributions of Mr Fang’s language。The content is very extensive, involving all aspects of society。This book aims to explore the original meaning of the classics, make meaning access and clear,.It got a very high achievement in the Ming dynasty.Scholars’ study on it involves language, vocabulary, etymology, ancient phonetics, dialectology and many other aspects.This paper focuses on the research of Mr Fang is from what and in what ways to distinguish with things from the hermeneutic point of view, mainly includes four aspects:naming laws, different names, interpretation methods, and the comparition with other books..This thesis consists of the following parts:Introduction:Brief introduction of author and Tongya, defining the scope of things, the research on object of Ming Dynasty and Tongya’s explorition review, the research of the purpose,tast, method and value.First chapter:Study of Fang Yizhi’s exploring the law of names. From Fang Yizhi’s research of the object names,summarise nine laws of object names.The second chapter:Research of Fang Yizhi’s dialectical relationship about names and objects. Analyse it mainly from the same reality of differentnames and different realities of the same name, inorder to summarize the reasons.The third chapter:Fang Yizhi’s interpretation methods. Fang Yizhi mainly from the meaning and sound to interprate objects. In the aspect of significance, Fang Yizhi flexibility use nine waysto interprate objects, including interpretation with the rectification of names and synonyms, interpretation with ancient and modern language, interpretation with elegant language and dialect names, interpretation of aliases with generalnames, interpretation of small names with small names, interpretation with the name of the same category, setting up the definition, description, extensive quote. In the aspect of voice, Fang Yizhi has three aspects of the research:One is explaining the transform of languageto interprate objects; The two is to explore the source of object naming; The three is to analysis the same object of different names. The fourth chapter:Comparison with Piya and Tong ya. This part mainly compare Tongya with Piya from three aspects, including the word collection, classification, content, to summary Tongya’s shortcommings in content and quote.
