This paper introduced the characteristic of blue and white porcelain in different times,different manufacturing process and different kilns. At the same time, combine with thereality that nowadays most surviving blue and white porcelains are damaged varying degreeswhich in urgent need of repair, this paper introduced the value and significance of ancientceramics restoration technology. Aimed at the problem that nowadays the repair technology ischosen by the restorer’s subjective valuation and the repair materials are decided by therestorer’s experience etc. presented that apply the modern science measurement technology inthe process of ancient ceramics restoration. Laser Raman spectrometer, three-dimension videomicroscope, X-ray diffractometer, colorimeter were used in the process of ancient ceramicrestoration to test the properties and structure of repair materials like epoxy resin, gypsum,gypsum and white cement, binder, pigment, ceramic glaze etc. to confirm that which is thebest for the process of ancient ceramics. At last, chosen a blue and white general pot in MingHongWu as the object of restoration, chosen the most suitable repair technology and materialswhich is decided by the results of tests, after the restoration, tested the surface morphologyand the chromatic aberration of the blue and white general pot, the rest results said that repaireffect is accord with the previous demand.
