Ou Yangxun is the early period of the Tang Dynasty calligrapher.His regular script,based on the calligraphy style of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi,and also mixed with the sincere Beibei integration, is created his own style.His technique of writing calligraphy uses the old method from the Li calligraphy,and it has a crossreference of stroking,a structure of compact.The regular sript that Ou Yangxun writes,which is called "Ou Ti" by people, is dignified and calm, well proportione and balanced,vigorous and solemn, so it is the example in the regular script history,and exerts great influence on the later generations,especially the people successively racing among the official careers,as well as the literatus who are good at writing.Ou Ti calligraphy is the foundation of their learning for writing. The relationship of the origins and development between the Ou Ti calligraphy and the literati calligraphy is discussed in this paper.This paper will focuse on the aesthetic factors of Ou Ti calligraphy and the sense of identity that traditional literati calligraphers on Ou Ti calligraphy,and will analysis deeply the reason and the phenomenon of them.At last,this paper will point at the awkward position of Ou Ti calligraphy in contemporary society,rethinking profoundly the difference between ancient and modern phenomenon,and emphasizing the importance holding the traditional calligraphy’s bottom line to restoring the spirit and connotation.
