"Pan Sculpture" Questioned

The "Pan sculpture" is a new word in sculpture field named for the"Pan sculpture " incident occurred in2007, which included the "2007PanSculpture Exhibition" as well as its slogan "pan-sculpture”. The conceptwas once quite popular, but after a short time, it no longer drew people’sattention. Is it meaningful for us to pick the concept up and reinterpretagain after years of silence? Whether the possibilities brought by theconcept of "Pan sculpture” were coincident with the positive stance ofsculpture at that time? And what is the intent and purpose behind theincident? All these are worth questioning and rethinking. From theperspective of art history and art development, this article focuses onmainly two aspects: The analysis of the concept "Pan sculpture" conceptand the analysis of the "2007Pan Sculpture" exhibition, in order toreevaluate its role in the incident–whether the concept is came up forthe need of the time or just for the concept “Pan” itself.
