In recent years, the attention from domestic for the European and Americansinology strengthened increasingly.“Cambridge Chinese history” is a European andAmerican sinology research work, which has a decisive position in the field. So we cansee the research results of European and American sinology. This paper studies the partof history in Chin dynasty in the sixth volume “Liao, Xia, Chin, dynasty in theCambridge Chinese history” of Cambridge Chinese history, and analyses thecharacteristics of the history of Chin dynasty in the European and American research.By analyzing the content, the structure, the author group, the usage of historical data,and the research methods in the part of history in Chin dynasty, we can see the shortagein the study of history in Chin dynasty in Europe and the United States. For example,there is a lack of researchers in the study of history in Chin dynasty, making light of rawmaterials, a lack of attention for the domestic research achievements and so on. But theresearch methods and the point of view are worth studying in China. For example, theyare good at using bibliometric analysis, and combined with multi-disciplinary researchmethods. Therefore, we should avoid weaknesses, and to improve the quantity andquality in the research of the history in Chin dynasty.
