Response Words And Answers In A Dream Of Red Mansions

A Dream of Red Mansion, a masterpiece of classical literature, represents the peak of Chinese ancient vernacular. This paper shows characteristics of Ask and Answer Sentences in Chinese ancient vernacular through analyzing and summarizing the book. Meanwhile, it indicates the stability in grammar and the similarities and differences between ancient vernacular and modern Chinese from the language development.This paper contains four parts. In the introduction part, it mainly introduces the research purpose and meaning, the definition and current research, subjects, language material resource and research methods. The Ask and Answer Word types and meanings are discussed in the second part. For the third part, it analyzes Ask and Answer Sentence patterns and characteristics. And in the last part, the similarities and differences between ancient vernacular and modern Chinese of Ask and Answer Sentences are researched here.
