Being analyzed horizontally and vertically, the perspective of thisarticle tries to demonstrate the break points in the process of domesticyouth school TV series’ developing by classifying the time and thenarrative style, studying some certain artistic rules as well.Generalizing after watching TV series, this article will make a conclusionon its current situation. Afterwards, this article will show somereflective and learnable techniques and narrative strategies by comparingto abroad youth school TV series, which is considered as the well developedyouth school TV series all around the world. Compared with a scanty fewarticles and essays which almost focused on traditional case study andpersonal sentimental viewpoints, the writer hopes that her limitedsummary and generalization can contribute some theoretical viewpoints todomestic TV series studies, offering some practical experience toscriptwriters.In the first part, I will learn from pioneers’ researches and currenttheories, defining my research areas and objects to set up an preconditionfor an effective discussion. In the second part, paying a close attentionon domestic youth dramas, which started in the year of1990, I will analyzethe beginning, developing, reforming and dying of domestic youth dramasto roundly and intuitively complete the analysis on domestic youth schoolTV series.The third part of this essay will focus on the horizontal analysis.Started with studying TV series, to synthesize around40TV series andanalyze their narrative features, especially the TV series of realism andentertainment. For instance, the representative of the realism is sweetsixteen, which described some little stories about regular high school students. It was deeply chased by audience because its plots were so closeto our life and the acting was also natural. However, the representativeof recreational TV series, such as House of Red Apples and the Sky ofEighteen, were deeply influenced by youth TV series from Korea and Japan,reflecting dramatic expression、idolization of characters and repeatedstories of Cinderella in its plot setting, figures’characteristics andthe theme...... This article will make similar analyzations to deeplyexplore the artistic rules of domestic youth TV series to complete itscomprehensive analysis.The forth part of this essay will focus on the comment of domesticyouth TV drama, to raise the writer’s understanding on that by combinedifferent academic opinion and analysis the case. In recent years, it’shard to meet the remarkable case in the market, and those productions whichare with top-rating but low public praise always exists on the market,and we still can find the “Campus youth” in some hit and classic works…through case analysis, we discuss the problem which the creator meets ontheir way to explore and practice their ideas, such as “Adults CreativePsychology”“Market Effect”“Facial Designs of Characters”. Ingeneral, on this part, by analysis the case, the writer tried to find morepractical guiding rethink of domestic youth TV drama through the creationand production of domestic youth TV drama.In the fifth part of the easy, by combine the details of part4, thewriter compared domestic youth TV drama to the abroad youth TV drama whichis more mature, tried to find the practical experiences which we can learnand use in different fields, such as the character, the theme, the plot,production and propagation, etc..
