The United States believes that they own a most democratic political system forthose words which make them feel proud: natural rights, liberty, equality andfraternity. However, family politics show different voices in American politicalactivities. America has the nepotism and corruption without the mandarin traditions.Therefore, it’s quite necessary to reveal the problems between family politics anddemocratic politics.Family politics means that a phenomenon of the powerful family occupying thegovernment posts for political corruption. This kind of phenomenon is verysignificant in those four famous family, the Addams Family, the Roosevelt family, theKennedy family and the Bush family. All of them have surprisingly similar points onnepotism. Consequently, this paper mainly analyses the process of the Big FourPolitical Family how to get political power and how to lose it gradually. Then we canget conclusion that family politics impacts on democracy and political lives. However,everything has two sides. With the continuous improvement of democracy and raisingthe political consciousness of the people, democratic system also influences on familypolitics.In summary, American democracy has been weakened since the nepotism offamily politics. As we know, family member will benefit from the policy passed bythe president who is from this family. Frankly speaking, president would like toappoint his relatives to some important posts. As a result, family politics reduce thecredibility of the Government. However, the continuous improvement of democracywill reverse this situation in the future. Thus, we have a new outlook of Americanpolitics.
