Novels can date from Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties in China. Most of the authors did not make up novels intentionally. Then they insisted on recording the incidents according to the facts. As a result, the novels of this period more truthfully recorded the social reality and people’s mental state at that time, providing an important supplement for the official social reality. The characters were the important component of the novels, reflecting the realities and the thoughts, values and aesthetic tastes of the authors. However, in most novels, female images were served as a foil. Ancestry sense was prevalent extremely in the Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties. The circumstances of aristocratic women differed from those of civilian women. This paper tries to discuss the aristocratic women in novels in the period to find out their privileges and difficulties, to deepen the understanding of social culture. On the other hand, we can unearth some latent common cultural implications, values and. aesthetic tastes. The first chapter inspects the era background of Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties, as well as the change of the aristocratic women’s lives and social status at that time, as a basis for later character image research. The second chapter studies the living state of aristocratic women in the novels at that time, including the aspects of politics, culture, religion, and other social activities. At the same time, they can deal with housekeeping and parenting. In the third chapter, goddesses in mystery novels are regarded as aristocratic women in the vision world. We focus on the privileges and difficulties faced by goddesses and aristocratic women. The fourth chapter analyzes some of the common gender consciousness, cultural psychology and social consciousness reflected by the aristocratic women in the novels, including sexist consciousness, the concept of opposing women who intervene politics, contradictory attitude towards beauty and emotion, contradictory chastity concept, strong sense of family status, and so on. The fifth chapter discusses some outstanding qualities of aristocratic women in the novels, including character, personality, emotions. These characteristics bring readers aesthetic enjoyment. This paper considers that due to the particular age and social status, social states of aristocratic women improved, but they were still very awkward at that time. They were noble, but they were often ignored. They were seemingly free but often difficult. They are often despised and excluded as well as civilian women.
