A Study On Prophet Phenomena Of The Zhiguai Novels In Wei And Jin The Northern And Southern Dynasties

Prophet phenomena are a common cultural phenomenon of Zhiguai Novels in Wei and Jin and the Northern and Southern Dynasties,which contains both folk and religious implications.It belongs to the field of interdisciplinary.However,scholars pay little attention to the study of prophet.the phenomenon of prophet has attracted the attention of more scholars.Nevertheless,the researches work on the phenomenon in Zhiguai novels of Wei and Jin times has not yet appeared.This thesis will take the Zhiguai novels of Wei and Jin dynasties as the research object.Through analyzing the prophet phenomena in Zhiguai novels of Wei and Jin and the Northern and Southern Dynasties,focusing on the study of types and characteristics of prophet,and exploring the deep cultural connotations behind the phenomenon,the thesis aims at revealing the thoughts people,folk beliefs and cultural activities in Wei and Jin Dynasties.The full text is mainly divided into three chapters:First of all,it then introduces the scope,contents and methods of the topic.it is the introduction part,which contains literature review related to the phenomenon of prophet in the novels.Finally,based on the predecessors' researches on the phenomenon of prophet in Zhiguai novels of Wei Jin times,this paper analyzes the feasibility of the research on the topic.From the perspective of linguistics,the first chapter defines the concept of “prophet phenomenon” in Zhiguai novels of Wei and Jin dynasties.Then,it carefully sorts out the connotation of “prophet phenomenon”,and differentiates and analyses the concepts of “prophet” and “prediction” and so on,which will be based on the connotation of “prophet”.As a whole,this paper discusses the distribution of the prophet phenomenon in Zhiguai Novels of Wei and Jin dynasties,and presents them in the form of graphs.In addition,in order to allow people have a better understanding on the types and characteristics of the phenomenon,the paper also explains the criteria and basis of classification through the characteristics of prophet phenomena.The second chapter combs concretely the types of prophet phenomena.Based on the different characteristics of prophet,it is divided into four types: prophet of divination,prophet of dreams,prophet of prediction and prophet of anomalies.Combining with the stories of prophet in Zhiguai novels in Wei and Jin dynasties,these types will be deeply analyzed in the paper.At the same time,it sums up the characteristics of the prophet phenomenon the novels: mystery with reality,superstition with science.In Wei and Jin Dynasties,people often predicted the unknown.The root was that people were full of fear of the unknown,and they were eager to foresee it and obtain the right to know ahead of time,so as to avoid disasters.In essence,it is people's belief in ancient folk customs and worship of nature.The third chapter,based on the analysis of the first two chapters,summarizes the characteristics of the prophet phenomenon,which centers on expressing individuals,focuses on current situations,and gives priority to narrate mysterious events.From the angels of times,history,culture and ideology,this chapter makes an in-depth analysis of the reasons behind it.The author of this paper believes that the political turmoil,the demise of people's livelihood,the prevalence of the mystery,the decline of Confucianism,the rise of the Buddha and the Taoism,the influence of primitive religions,the awakening of life consciousness,and many other factors all contributes to the formation of this unique phenomenon.Through a multi-angle,this thesis analyses and summarizes the prophet phenomenon of Zhiguai novels in Wei and Jin dynasties It is conducive to understand the people's real life and folk customs at that time,thus helps people more objectively and comprehensively know the society of Wei and Jin dynasties.
