The development of adolescent’s personality and intelligence is closely related to teaching method of basic education. Taking creative thinking as an example, it will be explored if growing class promotes the development of students’ characteristics through the contrast of the development of the ability of remote association between experimental growing class and non-experimental class. A3×4factor design was adopted to assess the ability of remote association of all subjects with the task of "Pupil Remote Associates Test" which was well-prepared. There were919pupils, from Nanjing Normal University Preparatory School (309from experimental growing class,310from non-experimental class) and Lang Yak Lu primary school. Students from different kinds of class were all from second grade to fifth grade. The dependent variable is score of the task of "Pupil Remote Associates Test".Results showed that:(1) Class property affected testing score significantly. Students’ scores of experimental growing class were significantly higher than non-experimental class of Nanjing Normal University Preparatory School and the control classes of Lang Yak Lu primary school in total.(2) Students’ scores of experimental growing class were significantly higher than non-experimental class of Nanjing Normal University Preparatory School and the control classes of Lang Yak Lu primary school for each grade.(3) The interaction of class property and grade were significant. The degree of difference was different with the change of grade. Specifically, testing scores of the control class of Lang Yak Lu primary school were higher than non-experimental class of Nanjing Normal University for second grade while testing scores of the control class of Lang Yak Lu primary school were lower than non-experimental class of Nanjing Normal University for fifth grade.Conclusions:(1) Remote Association ability of growing class students is better than non-experimental class of the same school and the control class of Lang Yak Lu primary school. It reflects that the teaching method of growing class promote creative thinking of pupils effectively.(2) The degree of difference between different classes is different with the change of grade. The extant of educational training and the degree of task difficulty will be factors.
