| The development of network technology has brought new opportunities to remote education.People can enjoy the education of different countries without being affected by the external environment.Meanwhile,it also has provided remote interpreting with the chance for development.The author served as an interpreter for Planning and Control course of a master of education program at an overseas university in 2021.Therefore,this interpreting task was used as the source language corpus for analysis.The course was held online,and each course lasted for one week,with the professor from an overseas university and the students from China.Extensive preparation was necessary because of unfamiliar terminology and background knowledge.In addition,the speed of the professor’s speech was fast and the frequency of pet phrases was relatively high.Therefore,the author suffered interference during the process of listening.This report summarizes the main difficulties: long segments,confusing words,redundancy,and poorly-structured source text.It selects some cases that are conducive for research and improvement,analyses the deficiencies,and puts forward specific coping tactics,including reconstruction,generalization,omission,and substitution.The author adopted these coping tactics to interpret the speaker’s meaning succinctly and effectively.Therefore,the analysis of these coping tactics in this report can provide references for other interpreters.Finally,it concludes to promote the research of remote interpreting and class interpreting in the Internet age. |
