| Language is the carrier of culture and culture is permeated into every aspect of language. Russian humorous discourse bears its national culture, records Russian politics, economy, culture, religion and daily life and reflects Russians’ cultural outlooks and life attitudes.Based on humor theories, this thesis attempts to analyze the cultural connotations and functions of Russian humorous discourse from the perspective of culture. By summarizing Russian people’s habits and features of humorous discourse usage, the author discusses the functions of Russian humorous discourse in verbal communication. And the author hopes that the discussion of cultural connotations and functions of Russian humorous discourse can deepen readers’ understanding of humorous discourse and open up the research vision of Russian humorous discourse. |
