Russian Humor From A Conversational Analysis Perspective

Based on the theory of conversational analysis,this thesis studies the specific performance of Russian humor in the Russian TV series Mamma Mia.Conversational analysis is an important part of pragmatics.Due to different perspectives,the definition of conversational analysis is diverse.However,in essence,conversational analysis is used to change the dialogue in daily life into the research object,and reveal the general rules of communication based on various conversational phenomena and a large number of data.This thesis focuses on the following three aspects: conversational structure,conversational strategy and conversational style.Humor is a special form of language communication.There are different views on the definition of humor.Generally speaking,humor is a kind of ability to trigger laughter.Humor plays an important role in the daily life of Russians,and it is also an indispensable element in films and TV plays.Based on the theory of conversation analysis,this thesis takes the dialogues in Mamma Mia as an example to analyze the humorous conversations in different situations(work,family,public places)and specific groups(children,women,workers),so as to capture the basic mode and deep connotation of Russian humor and understand more aspects of Contemporary Russian society.Besides,it can help people to undertand the Russian personality characteristics,psychological activities,handling style and living habits and so on,which can lay the foundation for effective cross-cultural communication between China and Russia.
