A Study On The Technique Of Spatial Expression Of Guo Xi 's Early Spring

The Wu dynasty and northern song dynasty is the heyday of Chinese tranditional1landscape painting. The tranditional landscape paintings of this time usually describe some scenes which are almost to the highest authenticity, just as restoring a certain part of the nature. But these views are created and their expressions do not conform to the real objective rules. This real but also illusory picture effect depends largely on the master and application of space techniques. In the process of tranditional landscape painting, the development of space theory as well as the influence and contribution of it toward the creation of tranditional landscape painting are worth to study for us. Which contents in this theory will affect the space expression of tranditional landscape painting or which characteristics of space expression in the tranditional landscape painting are reflected in the theory of tranditional landscape painting are important focuses of this dissertation. The "early spring figure" is one of the most representative works of this period, and the diversity of its techniques of space expression become the research object of this thesis. In this thesis, the author finds that the expression of specific object in pictures has an extremely important effect on the picture space, while the techniques the pen and ink is relatively minor. This phenomenon goes against people’s general understanding toward tranditional landscape painting. This thesis will make specific analysis of the two methods.Adopting the methods of literature research and image contrast research, with the object elements in his "early spring figure" as the research object, this thesis combines Guo Xi’s painting thoughts and art style, analyzes the application of pace expression techniques in this painting, and makes it become a case study of space expression.In addition,"three far method","scatter perspective" and other space expression theory frequently mentioned in the tranditional landscape painting didn’t play a major role.in the space expression in "early spring figure". About the probe of the space expression of traditional tranditional landscape painting, we shouldn’t confine it to theoretical research, but need to pay more attention to the painting itself. And this concept is what the author wants to pass to the reader.
