Research On Woodcut Engraving In Yangzhou In Qing Dynasty

Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasty especially flourish. Qing dynasty Yangzhou engraving printing scale, species, far more than earlier generations, in a large number of engraving works include many excellent woodcut pictures. However, as an important city was famous of engraving art, Yangzhou woodcut printmaking both its content and form is to be found with its own characteristics.This paper will be divided into the following several parts:The first part, an overview of the origin and development of Chinese woodcut pictures, combing the development of Yangzhou woodcut pictures.The second part, the classifying of Yangzhou in the Qing dynasty woodcut printmaking, Yangzhou woodcut pictures mainly divided into books illustrations, new year pictures and writing paper three categories, careful analysis of all kinds of works, based on this and then summarizes its artistic features.The third part, this paper analyzes the existing condition of Yangzhou woodcut pictures, reveals the problems, from the perspective of cultural heritage protection, utilization and development, put forward some preliminary ideas to solve the problem and prospect for the future of Yangzhou woodcut pictures.
