A Contrastive Study Of The Extension Of Thai And Chinese Human Words

In language development in the process of metaphor as a rhetorical device, is widely used in Chinese, such as word formationprocess in the human body has been fully reflected in the same.In this paper, the Thai and Chinese body words is divided into three parts, namely the head, limbs and organs from a cognitive approach, metaphor and metonymyand the extended meaning of the words of the comparative study. A preliminary understanding of the following:(A) Thai and Chinese human body words and expressions in most ways of meaning extension can be summarized as metaphor and metonymy. Among them,metaphor can be further divided into the following several types:morphology of metaphor,position of metaphor, the time of metaphor, degree of metaphor,and functions of metaphor. Metonymy can be further divided into:part that metonymy, metonymy is a comprehensive functional elements, metonymy is theunit of quantity, metonymy action.(B) In terms of the number two, the extension of vocabulary, the number of wordsderived from the head is the most, followed by the limbs and trunk extension ofwords, the least is derived from the visceral words.
