It is the major concern of the new curriculum reform, as well as the demand of fulfilling quality-oriented education, to construct the high-efficient class. As a result of the development of new curriculum reform, a plenty of research upon the high-efficient class followed. Despite, there is insufficient research on the high-efficient class based on the tourism geography. The objective of this research is to arise students’learning interest, improve learning efficiency, contribute to the establishment of high-efficient class based on tourism geography, and make tourism geography teaching more efficient, through innovating the course content and selection of the teaching strategies. The ultimate purpose of this research is to offer empirical case studies as well as references for the construction of tourism geography high-efficient class.This research intends to fulfill the cultivation of tourism geography knowledge of citizens required by the new curriculum through investigating the teaching content and teaching strategies. In addition, this research also focuses on various demands from different students towards tourism geography knowledge, in pursuit of laying down firm knowledge foundation for students. Students are expected to have basic knowledge reserve that can be used in the tourism geography-related areas in the future.The methodologies of this research remain literature review, survey, interview, empirical research and any other related. The survey and interview about the status quo of the tourism geography course in Pucheng County revealed the following problems:1. the course requirements were not sufficient.2. Teachers did not have sufficient knowledge to teach students.3. The course content seemed to be distant from exact life.4. Students did not demonstrate burning interests in learning knowledge.Moreover, this research will investigate the course content as well as the teaching strategies regarding tourism geography teaching. For the course content, the research will mainly focus on the limited range of knowledge that would be imparted to students and therefore argue that it is of essence to enrich the course content. It is necessary to involve the knowledge, personal experience, related videos, websites, and pictures circulated in the internet and mass media, and to convince the students that what have been imparted are indeed real and interesting matters that is closed to their exact life. For the teaching strategies, this research refers to the appropriate strategies adopted based on the exact teaching content. The purpose of adoption of these strategies is to achieve the teaching objectives. To construct the tourism geography high-efficient class, it is of importance for the teachers to adopt suitable strategies based on the teaching content and to make the course relaxing and enjoyable, which may contribute to the achievement of high efficiency of teaching activities.Potential conclusions of this research are as followed:1. The teaching content of tourism geography should not rigidly adhere to the content of the textbook. The depth and scope of the textbook should be continuously mined and the students’inquiry-based learning should be strengthened.2. When optional III of Chinese Library is adopted for teaching, different versions of textbook content should be integrated to enrich the teaching content.3. In classroom teaching, the local tourism geography teaching resources as well as the related information in the major media will stimulate students’interest, so it is appropriate for the teaching of tourism geography efficient classroom.4. The application of teaching strategies in tourism geography teaching activities could only realize its teaching goal, improve the teaching efficiency and establish tourism geography efficient classroom when it applies to teaching activities.What makes this research special is that the research is conducted on the background knowledge and related knowledge about the tourism geography, including the assessment criteria on the tourism resources, life cycle theory about the tourism geography, understanding on tour guide business and operation of travel agency, and broadcasting of micro films in the scenic spots, embraced by the author. Besides, a huge number of the pictures have been attached to demonstrate the tourist activities, especially the personal experience of the teachers in places like "Luobu Village" in Xinjiang, Tianjiao Lake in Pucheng County, Zijing Park, and Qiaoling Scenic Spot.
