Cognitive strategies are the learners to achieve more efficient learning, organized by internal guiding their attention, learning, memory and thought processesof a skill. It is very important to conduct a research in depth on the cognitivestrategies in relation to the high school geography, which aims at the cognitivestrategy teaching of geography. This will fundamentally help students to change thesituation of accept knowledge passively and learning by rote, wake up the students’subjective consciousness and improve the independent learning ability. In this study, the factors influencing the cultivation of students’ cognitivestrategies and cultivate students’ cognitive strategies principle as the startingpoint.Analyze the cognitive levels and cognitive characteristics of senior high schoolstudents. The experiment takes two liberal arts classes as the experimental object.Between the two classes, one class is the experimental group while the other is thecontrol group. The study uses questionnaire survey and comparative experimentalmethods of quasi-experimental research, tested twice for the same test. The teacherof the experimental group training cognitive strategies objectively purposefully, adoptvarious forms to the students for coaching and training of cognitive strategies.Butthe students don’t know they are the object of experimental research. At the sametime, the teacher of the control group don’t know their class in the comparative studyand still uses the traditional teaching methods. The results shows that, training thecognitive strategies of students in senior high school geography teaching improvesstudent learning efficiency and help students to flexibly use the geographicalknowledge. The student’s geography grades has been improved, and the learningenvironment of the class got a fundamental change. This research mainly includes the introduction, literature review,quasi-experimental research design of high school students’ geography cognitivestrategies training, cultivating students’ cognitive strategies of quasi-experimentalresearch results. The first part of the proposal, mainly describes the research background, the research goal and the significance, the research content and the method as well as thetheoretical basis for research. The second part is literature review, includes the concept of cognitive strategiesclassification written reviewed, the research of cognitive strategies training to do thesorting, analysis of the impact of cognitive strategies training and cognitivestrategies training principle. The third part includes penetration study design, several kinds of cognitivestrategies training, the implementation of experiment process and training ofcognitive strategies teaching cases. The fourth part analyzes the quasi-experimental research results and accordingto the results reached the conclusion and thinking.
