In human history, renaissance in Italy and the Wei-Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasty of China, is undoubtedly the most bright pearl in the history of civilization. Although the geographical and cultural belonging to different times, separated by long, but the two full of spirituality and passion, madness and deep era, was greatly influenced the social development, is a great turning points in their history. This division and confusion of the times provide certain development space to expose the emancipation of the mind and personality. In the long-term constraints, new ideas brewing erupts when Imprisonment unlocked, humanity began to wake up, thinking has become unusually open and active, make art to the individuality and independence, the art writing a new chapter.This paper aims to focus on the comparative study of Gu Kaizhi and Sandro Botticelli’s figure painting. First, from the historical backgrounds to compare similarities and differences between these two eras; Secondly, comparing the impacts of painting in this particular eras.From similar political and ideological background as a starting point to elaborate representative examples. Comparison and analysis of their respective figure painting achievements as well as painting characteristics, compared in figure painting art and technique of the integrity and identity. In conclusion, from this comparison to get inspirations for the future.
