There are some term with quite high frequency appears in Xu xuan’comments:“今俗作某,(非是/非)”、“今俗别作某”、“今别作某”、“今作某”During the onset and progression of character, those secular character has endured both the limit of the normal character and variants, and have been excluded from the normal scholarly studies fields by traditional thought. The study of those secular character can help us in find out the effects to normal character of secular character, and help us understand the role that secular character paly in the stage of normal character.So far, the study around the secular character was focused on the origin or distinguishing feature of distinguishing feature. In this paper, we take the term of“某,今俗作某,(非是)”as a breakthrough point.This paper contains5parts. The first part is introduction. The second part is talking about some concept around the secular character. The third part is to classified the secular character from different aspect. The fourth part is about the meaning of the secular character existence. The results of the research are summarized at the end of the chapter.
