Feng Youlan 's Modern Annotation On Zhang Zai' S Thought Of "Qiu Dan And Yi"

Zhang Zai, called Zihou, was born in the Emperor Song Zhenzong TianXi four years (AD1020) and died in Emperor Song Shenzong XiNing ten years (AD1077). He was known as "Mr Heng Qu" by the scholars because he often gave lectures in the town called Hengqu in Feng Xiang Mei. Mr Zhang was one of the founders of the neo-confucianism in Song Dynesty and he has a high position in the neo-confucianism. His thoughts play an important role in the history of Chinese ideology and culture and also has a significant impact on generations of thought. Feng Youlan did lots of research about Zhang Zai elaborated in his book Three History, especially for his study of the idea"revenge will be reconciliation" of Zhang Zai which has different meanings in different period. There are many studies of Zhang Zai’s "revenge will be reconciliation" in academia proposition, but there are few researches of the study about Zhang Zai’s "revenge will be reconciliation" from the perspective of Feng Youlan. This thesis aims to explore Feng Youlan’s proposition of Zhang Zai’s "revenge will be reconciliation" from modern interpretation in three parts.The first part mainly introduces the theoretical connotation of the idea "revenge will be reconciliation" of Zhang Zai. The idea stems from Zhang Zai’s article Zhengmeng Tai He. It is not put forward as a separate proposition but joined together as a whole with Zhang’s "gas monism". The idea of "tai he" is the ontological study of the idea "revenge will be reconciliation" and the idea "Liang Duan" is the methodology. the concept of"Have like,reviewing will return it as anti have enmity and hatred will be the solution "is considered to be the four dialetics of Zhang Zai.This part deeply analyses the intension of the four dialectics of ZhangZai and makes a conceptual analysis and explanation of the core meanings of "revenge","harmony" and "opposite".The second part mainiy focuses on the study of the proposition of "revenge will be reconciliation" of Zhang Zai and the idea will be discusses from three periods.The first periods is from1918to1949. when Feng has established his own psychological system. The stduy of the features of the idea "revenge will be reconciliation" is from the perspective of "breathing". He thinks that the idea of "revenge will be reconciliation" is a common phenomenon of the process of gasification of all things. The second period is from1949to1976with a extremely complicated social and political conditions. In this period, Feng Youlan lost himself because of the political struggle. The study of the main features of the proposition of "revenge will be reconciliation" of Zhang Zai is the analysis of the dialectics of Zhang Zai with the help of the Marxist materialist dialetics. He pointed out that ZhangZai’s "revenge will be reconciliation" is "circulaition theory" with incompeletenses and also argues that there exists a strong idealism color in the idea of Zhang Zai. The third period is from1977to1990when Feng Youlan return to himself and to the traditional Chinese philosophy. He re-examine the value of "harmony" in Chinese philosophy" and puts forward two kinds of dialectic philosophy which are the "Revenge will revenge" of Marx philosophy and the "revenge will be reconciliation" of Chinese classical philosophy. Besides, he predicted the famous judge ment that the future philosophy will develop towards the direction of "revenge will be reconciliation".The third part mainiy pays attention on the academic value and pracitical significance of the study of the idea of "revenge will be reconciliation" of Zhang Zai from the perspective of Feng Youlan who affirmed the essence of ZhangZai’s dialectics is the emphasis on "unity" and "harmony". Feng Youlan made his idea of "harmony" be more vivid and colorful in the process of the discussion of the proposition of "revenge will be reconciliation" of Zhang Zai. The idea of "harmony" of Feng Youlan plays an significant theoretical role in the process of the establishment of harmonious world with people and society and with people and nature.
