Fu is the treasure of art, has the perfect literary aesthetic characteristics and the unique cultural connotation. Emperor Xiao Yan, Xiao Tong, Xiao Gang, Xiao Yi had a lot of literary works, so they were very famous in history. This article takes their status as the breakthrough point in order to study their artistic characteristics and literary value.The introduction includes the research object and scope, the research history and present situation, the research thought three parts in this paper.The text is divided into three chapters.The first chapter:the unique individual. Everyone is unique in the world. Literary activity is determined by the writer’s personality and ability level. In order to truly understand Four Xiaos’ Fu, we must first know their personality. This part narrates in four points."Cai" mainly refers to the inborn wit and non-congenital talent."Xin" refers to the personality and temperament."Xue" mainly emphasizes the nurture and edification in this process."Shi" means knowledge, ideology, understand ability. We take efforts to focus on Four Xiaos’ individual differences which represented in their Fu.The second chapter:The emperor. Literature has its own law of development. On the basis of keeping pace with the times development, the promotion of the emperor can promote the prosperity and development of literature. Many emperors before the Liang Dynasty loved literature and writers, but Four Xiaos did much better. During the reign of Xiao Yan, no writer died unnatural deaths. Thanks to Xiao Yan, Xiao Tong, Xiao Gang and Xiao Yi, the literature in the Liang Dynasty developed continuously. Four Xiaos’ interests in Fu had a strong appeal. Praise and affirmative of literati prompted literati to explore actively in art. And party improvisation forced literati to constantly practicing writing. Also we found that Four Xiaos’ Fu were similar to Three Caos’ Fu by diagram. Four Xiaos’ Fu revealed their imperial characteristics, not only energetic but also leisure. In the end of the chapter, we emphasize the emperor’s primary task was governing the country.The third chapter:the leaders of literature. Four Xiaos’ Fu absorbed the essence of the literary in their time. Due to the abundant economy and stable environment, literature were able to have a long-term development in the Liang Dynasty. Furthermore, poetry, prose, folk songs, ci-fu and other style of literary form communicated each other and emerged new features. The artistic features of their Fu were phonological harmony, opportunely allusions, easy words and fluent style. Fu in long length still existed, but more performed event in one’s life. Another feature was that their Fu became short in length and possessed beautiful artistic conception. What’s more, Four Xiaos’ Fu retained their own characteristics. Xiao Yan’s Fu was maverick in style. Xiao Tong, Xiao Gang and Xiao Yi’s Fu which described articles had a big step forward so that could give a person pure aesthetic experience. Be similar to "Gong ti", Xiao Gang and Xiao Yi liked to choose topics related to women and inserted the female image into description. Compared with each other, Xiao Gang’s Fu was more gorgeous than Xiao Tong’s, but Xiao Yi’s Fu was more delicate than Xiao Gang’s.Finally we conclude the whole paper. In general, Xiao Yan, Xiao Tong, Xiao Gang and Xiao Yi were the leaders of literati in the Liang Dynasty and deeply affected the development of Fu at that time. Four Xiaos’ Fu played a significant role in Fu’s history in the Southern Dynasties.
