Movie title is the first presentation, the title is a highly generalization of thetheme and content. In many movie makers’s recitations, to the success or failure of themovie,the key elements is the brand names, which would decide the economicbenefits of a movie. Especially in this time, under the influence of commercializedspring tide, the movie industry face to increasingly fierce competition, so take a goodmovie title is a significant work. At the same time, the language, which is closelylinked with the society has a covariant relationship in between, this is the basic ideasof social linguistics. Movie title is a special kind of language form, so there is aclosely link in the movie title and our social, and this link is the starting point and thefoothold of this study.This article adopts the method of collecting and organizing the corpora, throughthe movie data directory, and a variety of channels such as movie archive. The corporawere collected since The People’s Republic of China was founded in1949to2014.And the movie titles were added up by the perspective of linguistic datastatistics. Finally, the classification is written up according to the variation in sociallinguistics theory.This paper introduces the research object and the background, purpose andsignificance, and corpus sources and research methods in the frist, and then, putforward the feasibility and will by the result drawn; Secondly, combined with themovie titles in1949-2014,and based on the situation in the sociolinguistics variationtheory, there formulate a classification of four times, and choose the voice, vocabularyand grammar three aspects to analyzes the reasons of the differences to the movietitles in this paper, we can see the syllable extends,the words more plentiful,thegramma form more abundant; Again, based on the theory of level variation, the movietitles from1995to2014in the corpora are added as a result, they would be dividedinto children movie, youth movie and adult movie.And analyze the aspects of threetypes of pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar differences and the reasons, we cansee they have characters of vivid, sound and plentiful; Finally, on the basis of the timeand level variation of movie titles conclusion, summarizes the characteristics of movietitles and design principles,in order to provide reasonable suggestions to the movietitles of this moment.
