This paper mainly discusses Liu Suola’s novel You Have No Choice,which was published in the year of1985.1n the interdisciplinary perspective of literature and music,on the artistic horizon of the new trend music,we take the musical compositions of Tan Dun, Qu Xiaosong, Ye Xiaogang, Guo Wenjing and some other musicians as examples,try to reveal the cultural and societal metaphors within a large number of musical elements which the novel contains, as to provide the unique enlightenment for the Chinese contemporary literature trend of thought’s extradition and acceptance of the Western Modernism. Liu Suola, Tan Dun, Qu Xiaosong, Ye Xiaogang,Chen Qigang and Guo Wenjing belong to Chinese contemporary new trend musicians. These musicians experienced tremendous changes of global literary thinking and art trend, they were deeply influenced by the Western Modernism.The application of atonal in Modern Music results in the cruel dismemberment, of acoustics’s beautifulness of Classicism’s consonance. In the meanwhile, the multiple polyphony technique gives the music which flows in the linear time a kind of perplexing artistic thinking, the individual-subject centralism of Modernism can be thoroughly constructed. Modern Music breaks and transcends the order and stability in the world of the ordinary man, it grasps man’s inspiration and epiphany of life and art in the non-rational world. However, Liu Suola never stops in the sheer fascination of the Western Modernism’s aesthetic style, through the confusion and uneasiness which the college students encounter among their choices, Liu Suola powerfully doubts the excessive expansion of the non-rational subject caused by the Western Modernism. This paper draws lessons from the artistic creation of the new trend music, from the spiritual connotation of the ’original tension’,we try to view the generation and development of the nationality within the western-based modernism aesthetic spirit.All in all,the novel let the musical elements appear in the literary style, in the same time, it reconstructs the written words by means of music, finally, with the dual artistic forms, the novel You Have No Choice makes the readers comprehend the Chinese contemporary literature trend of thought’s extradition and acceptance of the Western Modernism.
