On The Basis Of Constructing The Time Consciousness In Husserl

This thesis is going to deal with the problem on Husserl’s constitution of consciousness of internal time. The core text is<Zur Phanomenlogie des inneren Zeitbewusstseins>(HuaX). The thesis will start from the analysis of the zero point of the constitution of consciousness of internal time, which includes three items-primal presentation (Urimpression), retention and protention. Then it will go further into the constitution of now phase which contains a discussion of two aspects:the one is on the efflux of the continuum of single now phase; the other is on the efflux of the continuum of different now phases. At the same time, this thesis will also discuss on the context of now phase which shows itself as the object of internal time and link this object with internal consciousness (mainly with internal perception), which will lead us way to the constitution of internal time flow(consciousness of internal time). At the end the author will import another Husserl’s original manuscript--<Die Bernauer Manuskripte uber das Zeitbewusstsein>(HuaⅩⅩⅩⅢ). This manuscript contains some discussion on protention which is absent in<Zur Phanomenlogie des inneren Zeitbewusstseins>. By the help of the discussion, we can set a step forward to the problem which is still to be answered in HuaX. Besides, the author will also talk about the relationship between subjective time and objective time which can be presented to us by the distinction between perception and reproduction.The research method of this thesis is mainly on literature interpretation which can fulfill the main aim of this thesis—to clarify the process of Husserl’s constitution of consciousness of internal time step by step. Because of the limitation of the length, we can’t draw a whole picture on Husserl’s thought of time. Therefore, this thesis has chosen primal presentation, retention and protention as starting point. Through these three core concepts’ mutual effect in the different levels of constitution of consciousness of internal time, will there be a possibility to sort out the essential provision of the internal time flow.The main purpose of this thesis is to clarify "how the consciousness of internal time can be constituted" and this clarification will be the standard to evaluate, that to what extent Husserl can reach his goal to find out "the form of primal time".
