Existential sentence is a form of sentence to expressing things “existence”, whichincluding locational noun, existential verb, and the subject. This paper, based on Bailanguage in Lijiang Prefecture, Qihe, accompanied by comparing the existentialsentence of Bai language in each dialect, undertakes a eomprehensive and detailedinvestigation for the existential sentences of Bai languages, including limits,nature, characteristics, classification, and typology characteristics of existentialsentences. This dissertation is divided into seven parts as follows.Chapter one: Introduction.This chapter defines the study of existential sentencesin Sino-Tibetan family,the value of research,as well as the source of materials.Chapter two: A define to concept and structures of the existential sentences ofBai language.Chapter three: The characteristics of the existential sentences of Bai language.This chapter analyse the structural features of the existential sentences of Bailanguage, including structural pattern and the constituents of the existential sentencesof Bai language.Chapter four: The classification of the existential sentences of Bai language. Thispaper,classify The Existential sentences of Bai language, following the structure,grammatical meaning of existential verbs,and behavior category.Chapter five: Differences of the existential sentence of Bai language in eachdialect. By comparing the existential verb like “there is/in”,to analyse characteristicsof the Existent verb of Bai language.Chapter six:to analyse typology characteristics of the existential sentences of Bailanguage. Bai language is belong to Sino-Tibetan family,Tibeto-Burman language,there are some accordances as well as divergences in characteristics between Bailanguage,Tibeto-Burman language and Chinese.Chapter seven: General conclusion. This chapter includes an overview of themain Points of the dissertation. It also points out the incomplete aspects of thedissertation and gives directions for further research.
