Chinese taboo is a kind of special language phenomenon in Chinese, out ofcourtesy and propriety reasons, we often try to avoid certain taboo languageexpressions, and Instead of the other way. These alternatived Chinese taboos arestudied in this paper. This article attempts to unscramble them from the cognitiveperspective.In the academic circle, There have been many scholars study on the issue ofChinese taboo, they are mainly involved in the fields of cultural comparation,translation and so forth, which are a great help to our understanding of Chinese taboophenomenon and rule. Through statistical analysis in the research material, now wenote that few scholars understand Chinese taboo issues from the perspective ofcognition, especially from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. Understanding ofChinese taboo words can help us to further broad understanding of Chinese culture, toimprove cultural accomplishment and to develop a good habit of civilization.This article examine and interpret Chinese taboo from this new research methodand perspective, separately from these three different regions, different fields anddifferent types: the prototype category theory in cognitive linguistics, metonymytheory and iconicity theory, to sort out the Chinese taboo words behind thecharacteristics and abundant connotation of their respective types, which are helpfulto guide our communication activities and teaching activities. Proved by practice, themain theory of cognitive linguistics, which can explain the unique function of Chinesetaboo issues. We come to know that the unique characteristics of Chinese taboo words,culture and a typical era.
