On The Performance And Teaching Of The Character Of Chinese Classical Dance

“Fortitude” character is one of the three types of characters in contemporary Chinese classical dance. It plays an important role in teaching and performing system. The spirits of masculinity, self-improvement and independence are contained in a wealthy culture which originates from rich Chinese classical culture. It is a major part of artistic performing of Chinese classical dance. Discussion on the acting and teaching issues of “Fortitude” character in teaching repertoire contributes a lot to the deeply study in Chinese classical dance teaching.Either on the stage or in teaching, “Fortitude” character will make us feel a strong inner personality of “vitality”. It contains a unique aesthetic and embodies the indomitable national spirit of Chinese nation.In the paper, we analyze the culture resources of the performances features of “Fortitude” character in Chinese contemporary classical dance. Through appreciating the typical plays of “Fortitude” character, we can refine the typical effort force of “Fortitude” character, and dating back to teaching, we have explained how to train the capacity of this character in our basic teaching.We can reach shaping the “Fortitude” character by using this rhythm. In this way we can make our students master the inner spirit of “Fortitude” character and lay the strong base for our Chinese classical dance of stage performances.
