As we all know, in history, we could find that the development of Korean culture was greatly influenced by Chinese culture, among different cultures'development, the culture of dance is one of the main topic and is the one will be introduced in this thesis.Before start writing this thesis, I have searched for the historical data of sleeve dance of China and South Korea. We could find that in ancient China, South Korea and Japan, among those unique and with props'dances, for instance, sleeve dance, T-shirt dance, cloth dance, etc., sleeve dance is the only one with the longest development.After in-depth study, the sleeve dances of both Chinese and Korean will be compared and analyzed in this thesis. Including the influence of Chinese sleeve dance to Korean sleeve dance, which means during the infiltration process of Chinese sleeve dance into Korea, started from when and if there was any influence caused; the mutual influence of both cultures and lifestyles during the development of the sleeve dances of both countries.On the one hand, is a comparative analysis of the evolution of ancient Chinese sleeves dance, and the impact of Chinese sleeve dance during the evolution of the ancient Korean dance, on the other hand, is a comparative study of current Chinese classical dance - long sleeve dance and Korean traditional dance (Seung-Mu :Monk's Dance) - long-sleeve dance.After initial collation and analysis of the literature of both Chinese and Korean dances. The main research direction of this thesis: 1) the historical background and the evolution of the generation; 2)the religious significance; 3)the features of movements and dance aesthetic value. After study, observation and comparison the four main traditional dances, "sleeve dance, water sleeve dance, long sleeve dance, Seung-Mu (monk's dance) ", it greatly helps me understand more deeply about the relationship between Korean dance culture and Chinese dance culture.
