| Empathy theory as a important aesthetics category, it has important influence on the history of Chinese and Western Aesthetics. The paper arranges the empathy theory of Chinese and Western aesthetics carefully, and discusses the development of specific connotation of empathy. On the basis of the investigation and analysis, the paper focuses on the Empathy theory of five modern aesthetics textbooks, deems the Empathy theory is a hybrid construction of Chinese and Western aesthetic, it can not undertake the task of the communication of Chinese and Western Aesthetics.
