The quantifier system of Xing Shi Yan(型世言),a total of 386 quantifiers,can be divided into two subsystems,which are noun quantifiers and verb quantifiers.The noun quantifiers system of Xing Shi Yan,a total of 206 quantifiers,includes measuring quantifiers,temporary quantifiers,indefinite quantifiers,individual quantifiers and collective quantifiers.In addition,the verb quantifiers system of Xing Shi Yan,a total of 180 quantifiers,includes special quantifiers and borrowed quantifiers.The quantifiers usually do not serve as sentence constituents alone, except some particular conditions. In most cases, the quantifiers collocated with the numerals, which form quantifier phrases, serve as sentence constituents together. In the positive rhetoric aspect, the quantifiers in the Xing Shi Yan adopt metaphor, exaggeration, and metonymy and so on.According to diachronic comparison, most quantifiers of Xing Shi Yan follow ancient and mediaeval Chinese quantifiers; moreover, the minority of quantifiers comes from Ming Dynasty. The quantifier system of Xing Shi Yan closes to modern Chinese quantifier system. Meanwhile, the quantifier system of Xing Shi Yan does not have compound quantifiers, but it has a little dialect style.
